    "Immune Booster" Carrot Apple Juice- Fuel your body with immune boosting nutrients! Fresh carrot and apple juice with a hint of ginger can be made with or without a juicer.{Clean Eating}

Want to rev up your immune system? Give your heart, skin, and muscles a little love?

The nutrients in this vibrant fresh juice provides your body with doses of vitamin A, potassium & magnesium.

Vitamin A- helps nourish your skin and boost your immune system.
Potassium-  is good for keeping your heart, muscles, and digestive tract functional.
Magnesium-  nourishes your bones and teeth and it helps you to produce the energy you need to get through the day.

This combo ( carrots, apples, ginger and lemon) is a great way to fuel up your body and start your day!

How to Make Carrot Apple Ginger Juice with a Juicer:

    1. Clean carrots (peeling if desired) and apples (cored and quartered).
    2. Run carrots, apples and ginger through juicer according to manufacturers instructions.
    3. Add juice of 1/2 lemon to juice mixture and stir.
    4. Serve (over ice, if desired) or refrigerate in an air-tight glass container.

How to Make Carrot Apple Juice without a Juicer:

    1. Clean and peel carrots and apples(removing core) and cut into approx. 1 inch pieces.
    2. Add apples and 1/2 cup of water to the blender and blend on high until smooth.
    3. Add carrots and ginger (reducing the amount of ginger if necessary since taste will be stronger than if using a juicer) and juice of half a lemon. Blend until smooth. You may need an additional 1/4-1/2 cup of water to blend to smooth consistency.
    4. Place a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl (or measuring cup with spout) and pour contents from blender into the strainer. Use a rubber spatula or spoon to push the pulp against the strainer to help release the juice. Allow to sit for a few minutes until juice strains through.
    5. Serve (over ice, if desired) or store in an air-tight glass container.

Any leftover pulp can be used for other purposes like these Carrot Apple Ginger Tea Cakes

Process shots showing how to make carrot apple juice without a juicer by adding the apples to the blender and blending followed by the carrots and blending again.

What kind of apples are best for making Carrot Apple juice?

You can really use any type of apple you like. The primary difference will be in the sweetness of the juice blend. Carrots tend to be on the sweet side so take that into account when choosing which type of apples to use to suit your tastes.

If you like things on the sweeter side consider using Fuji, Gala, Red Delicious, or Golden Delicious.

If you like things a bit more on the tart side consider using Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Pink Lady varieties.

My personal favorite blend is to use one Fuji and one Granny Smith apple (a  sweet and tart combo) when making this carrot apple juice.

How to store fresh juice ? How long does fresh juice last?

Fresh juice is best consumed immediately (for highest nutrient benefits- juice loses some of nutrient balance the longer it is stored). If you do want to store fresh juice you should do so in an air-tight glass container (like a mason jar) in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

    Ingredients

    • 5 large carrots, cleaned and tops trimmed off
    • 2 medium apples, cored and quartered Fuji or Granny Smith
    • 1 (1 inch) knob of ginger (you may want to reduce the amount of ginger if not using a juicer)
    • juice of 1/2 lemon

    Instructions

To Make Juice with a Juicer

    • Put carrots, apples, and ginger through the juicer according to manufacturers instructions.
    • Add juice of 1/2 lemon to the carrot juice mixture.
    • Pour, enjoy! (and hear your immune system kicking into high gear!)

To Make Juice without a Juicer

    • Peel carrots and apples and cut into approx 1 inch pieces.
    • Add apples and 1/2 cup water to a blender. Blend on high until smooth.
    • Add carrots, juice of half a lemon and ginger to the blender.(The ginger flavor will be stronger in this version vs. running through a juicer so you may want to start with a smaller amount of ginger and taste the juice , adding more to blend if desired). Blend on high until smooth. You may need to add some additional water (1/4-1/2 cup) to the blender to obtain a smooth blend.
    • Place a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl (or measuring cup with spout) and pour contents of blender in strainer. Use a rubber spatula or spoon to press the pulp and help squeeze the juice from the pulp. Allow to sit for a few minutes until juice strains through.

    Notes

Store juice in an air-tight container ( like a mason jar) in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
